June is here, and the sun is shining! Can you believe the end of the year is now? Kids will be out of school next week and we will be enjoying barbeques and beaches, patios and water parks! It really is such a great time of year. I hope that you have a fun summer and enjoy all of your family time. On behalf of my Area team and myself, I would like to send a big thank you to you for all the time you have given to Scouting. You are the most important part of our programs. I look forward to working with you again next season.

As an Area, we would like to congratulate Jim Bryce on his success as Council Commission for the Fraser Valley. Jim’s term ended in June. This brings us to announce our new Council Commissioner, Ken Pepin, former Area Commissioner of Coho. We are looking forward to working with Ken.

Again, this year, Green Timbers Area is going to provide each volunteer member with a Calendar of events. We should have this to your Group Commissioner very soon. I hope that you take the time to plan your year, and include Council and Area events with your plans.

Congratulations on a great year!

No One Left Behind

No One Left Behind grants for individual youth to cover membership and/or participation in Scouting will become available once again starting September 1st for the new Scouting season. The website will be and forms will be updated accordingly.

To help reduce the challenges experienced last year because of the time lag between when the section Scouter completed the form and those forms were received here, the following notice will be printed on the application forms:

All applications for No One Left Behind subsidies must be received at Scouts Canada’s National Office within 60 days of the application for which the funds are required. Funds are allocated on a "first come first serve basis."

And please take particular note of the following message with regard to timing associate with NOLB applications:

"No One Left Behind subsidies are made possible thanks to the generosity of donors across the country. All applications need approval by the Council and must reach Scouts Canada within 60 days of the date the application was submitted by the section Scouter. This is true for subsidies on membership, registrations to camps and other supported subsidies. The applications are treated on a "first come first serve" basis". Any applications older than 60 days will be returned to your office and will not be considered.
